Welcome to my online portfolio! My name is Will McTarsney, and I am a current clear credentialed special education teacher. My background includes 20+ years of experience as a graphic designer, web designer, programmer, and fine artist.
In the past, I was an adjunct instructor at many vocational art/technology schools in Southern California before changing career paths to become a special education specialist at an Elementary School.
I currently hold two master's degrees (MS in Special Education and MA.Ed in Educational Technology): these two emphasize my lifelong passion for education as an educator. With the MS: I am trained in neurobiology and mindfulness practices. With the MA.Ed: I am trained in educational technology (e.g., programming and design) and authoring programs. With these two specializations, I understand how to create instructional technology to fit the needs of all students with a deep understanding of how a student's neurobiology works.
My overarching plan is to bring everything that I know from technology, special education, and mindfulness into a doctorate program that can serve inclusion.
Many parents, co-workers, and students have said that I am a patient, kind and hard-working special education teacher- I truly understand how to adapt to the student: their creative mind and unlocking their strengths.
