About

The purpose of this workshop is to provide mindful activities to support neurodiverse (students with variations/traits of the brain) and neurotypical (students with a typical brain) students.

Mindfulness ss a state of conscious awareness that incorporates the awareness and acknowledgement in the present moment (Jennings, 2015).

Mindfulness is a practice to bring “fullness to the mind”, and it provides beneficial changes in the brain by promoting self-regulation (Porges, 2009).

Adapting the Curriculum, not the Learner

The format of this workshop is designed to adapt the curriculum to the learner. The activities are tailored to address the learner's unique abilities (whether the learner is neurodiverse or neurotypical) by being flexiable and using multiple intelligences (independent, group, audio, kinetic and visual) as a foundational approach.
